Jet Blue is going to start flying down to Turks and Caicos in Feb 2011 and Inter island Aviation asked us to help them pull together a promotional piece that would introduce the company to the Jet Blue team. We produced, directed, scripted and shot this in less than 48 hours.

For the last 3 or even 4 years we have been delighted to help the Turks and Caicos Tourist Board with a photo shoot of the contestants for Miss Turks and Caicos (or Miss Earth TCI – I think it is this year?).

We do it for free, it’s fun and the girls are great to work with. This year it’s a little more low-key (naturally) so it was just a quick two-hour shoot near our studio and on Grace Bay Beach.

On June 20th the development of the exclusive Dellis Cay Resort took a major step forward with the groundbreaking ceremony, which marked the official beginning of construction work on this private island getaway.

We were there to cover the event on behalf of the developers, with both video and stills…

As part of our recent Platypus Video Workshop, each of us had to make a five-minute documentary on a subject of our choice.

Not too hard, you might think – but we only had a single day in which to shoot it, and a day and a half allowed to download and edit the footage into a finished piece!

It was a challenging exercise, but very worthwhile…

Last week we learned a lot! For eight days, Andy, Preston, David and myself were barraged with ideas, techniques, tips, tricks, and best practice – in the world of “video journalism”.

Renowned photojournalists Dirck Halstead and PF Bentley brought their “Platypus Workshop” to our Neptune Plaza office to turn the four of us into “filmmakers” – in other words to teach us how to transform our wedding and commercial video productions into professional video documentaries, with the style and impact of TV shows such as NBC’s 60 Minutes and ABC’s Nightline.
